I am currently on leave and will return mid-Fall 2023. My passion is to work alongside clients to help them build skills to navigate themselves and their life. My experience is wide, working with people of all backgrounds, ages 6 and up with various issues including PTSD, depression, anxiety, parent-child relationships, and mental illness. I also administer psychological evaluations to help determine appropriate diagnosis, treatment planning and provide individual recommendations for clients.

Going to therapy takes heart and courage, so finding someone you can trust is most important. Trained extensively in Social Work, Psychoanalysis, Somatic Experiencing and with 25 years in the field, Teresa has integrated these traditional methods with her experiences and studies in Ayurvedic psychology and other holistic healing practices such as mindfulness, meditation, yoga & breathwork. This approach addresses the person as a whole: mind, body, spirit & heart.

Humans were created to enjoy our relationships, but so often life stresses, parenting, increased activity, and unresolved conflicts overshadow that innate joy in each other. I utilize Gottman Method in couples therapy to help couples rediscover the joy in their relationship. I work with individuals to help them understand themselves, their histories, and build the life they want to live for the future. Given the chaos that seems to surround us 24/7, I can understand why so many of us are struggling with fear, regret, anger, and resentment. Drawing on my previous experience as a youth pastor, I enjoy working with children, teenagers, and young adults. As a play therapist, I have worked extensively with children who are struggling with ADHD and trauma. I also enjoy working with couples and families, and individuals who struggle with addiction, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues and PTSD. The challenge of parenting sparks my interest and I enjoy using humor, emotion coaching, and intergenerational systemic family theories to illuminate and strengthen the resources that parents already have to offer. I believe that solutions can be found by viewing obstacles as opportunities for repair.

My life experiences of long term marriage, parenting, grandparenting and the desire to assist in healthy relationships direct my therapy.
