I am a Certified Bariatric Counselor and a Registered Dietitian. I work with individuals who struggle with binge eating disorder, emotional eating and compulsive eating disorder. My practice focuses on individuals who struggle emotionally as a result of food, eating and weight. I want to help you recover from the dieting mentality to have a peaceful relationship with food. I also see clients who are seeking weight loss surgery or who have had the surgery. I do not do psychological evaluations for surgery clearance.
I approach therapy with a focus on strengthening your self-compassion. I walk with you through your journey, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I want to create an environment where you feel safe sharing your story, your struggles and your desires. Together we will create a plan to heal from disordered eating.
I hope to share my passion of assisting you in recovering from disordered eating and obesity in a time of overwhelming food marketing and food abundance. We will end each session with an action plan, or what you believe you are ready to invest your energy into doing next. Insight and awareness happen in session, change is what happens outside of session.
