The first decade of Katie's career has been dedicated to supporting immigrants on their path towards legal protection/safety in the US allowing her to better understand the systems that get in the way of our ability to belong and experience joy. Since then her clinical work in community health centers and hospitals has taught her more tools for how to navigate power dynamics in relationships.
In addition, she has experience with chronic illness, family of origin issues, religious trauma, and attachment wounds. Katie's therapeutic approach incorporates how we make meaning, how oppression impacts mental health and how to find ways for you to feel safe, understood, and seen for exactly who you are.
