Does it feel like life is running you and not the other way around? Are worries and stressors overwhelming you? You can take charge of your life again! I seek to work collaboratively with clients to help them learn new and healthier ways of relating to those around them and gain a greater ability to treat themselves and others with compassion. It takes courage to step into the therapy room; I work to provide a disarming space for clients. My curiosity guides me as I get to know people for who they are and help clients learn to think, feel, and act in new productive ways in order for them to become the people they hope to be.
My areas of special clinical interest include depression, anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem, couples therapy, conflict management, LGBTQ+ issues, and relationship issues. My practice is evidence-based and influenced by various theoretical orientations, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, internal family systems, and mindful self-compassion.
I am a therapist at The Briggs Institute, Inc., a private practice unlike most others. Connected to Lipscomb University's Master's of Marriage and Family Therapy program (the only COAMFTE accredited program in Nashville), we provide high quality mental health care. I'm accepting new clients at this time and would love to help you however I can!

I try to work myself out of a job. I start out meeting with clients once a week to identify the maladaptive patterns in your life and to replace them with adaptive behaviors instead. Once things improve, we move to sessions once every 2, 3, 4 weeks (etc.) until you are in maintenance, where you no longer require regular sessions. A higher investment on the front end leads to less therapy overall.

I use a lot of CBT, IFS, and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) in my practice. We'll collaborate on therapy goals and determine how to measure progress. Then, we'll start working to help you increase your ability to accept all parts of yourself, even the less likable parts. We'll help you push back against self-critical thoughts and learn to show yourself the same love you naturally extend to others.
