I specialize in maternal mental health with a focus on the prevention, assessment and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I also work with mothers and fathers who are struggling with adjustment to parenthood, infertility, perinatal loss, birth trauma, NICU experiences and medical complications related to pregnancy and child birth. In addition, I work with college students, couples and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues and difficult life transitions.
My therapeutic approach is warm, accepting and collaborative. I encourage a relationship of trust and a sense of safety for my clients. I work with clients to manage symptoms and stressors more effectively, to enhance self-awareness, to discover their inner strength and resilience and to improve self-care.
As a clinician, I see each individual client as a unique person. Given this, I tailor my therapeutic approach to each client's needs and to each client's strengths. I integrate evidence based therapeutic approaches into my work with clients, including interpersonal, solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based techniques.
