My work with adults, couples and adolescents is tailored to embrace the unique personal histories, aspirations, cultural and religious backgrounds, sexual orientations and stages in life of my patients. I try to engage adolescents wherever they're at and help couples identify and replace dysfunctional patterns with more effective communication and listening.
Over many years I have worked in hospitals, clinics, college counseling and private practice, including supervising and teaching clinicians in training. I have a particular interest in problems with intimacy, self-esteem and body image. My skills are enriched by advanced training in personality disorders, trauma, couples treatment, and psychoanalysis.
