I will work with you to identify the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are getting in the way of living a life that aligns with your values and goals.

After 32 years of corporate management, I felt led to follow my passion. Because I understand the specific stressors of the business world, I'm in a unique position to connect. I'm also a husband who cares deeply about my marriage and a father who works hard at parenting my children.

My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable and can explore their own personal challenges. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is crucial in connecting with my clients and supporting them as they begin to make changes in their lives. I specialize in blending empathy with challenge, so clients will feel supported as they are pushed to go further than their comfort zone.

Relationships can bring out the best and the worst in us: at times, leaving us feeling like our best selves; at others, like the dirt on the floor. Depression, anxiety, and other mental health symptoms can manifest as we attempt to cope with these relational injuries: trauma, loss, rejection, abandonment, and exile from the ones we love, maybe even our very selves. Painful patterns built with loved ones can be difficult to change, yet within these conflicts our longings emerge to guide new patterns of growth.

My professional experience has extended over the past 25 years. I have worked with clients of many ages 6-66 years old.. My training includes using EMDR and Internal Family Systems for trauma, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for increased rational thought, Art Therapy for expression of emotion and release of negative emotions, as well an alternative way to encounter problems; and Reality Therapy to identify concrete needs and how to get those needs met. I am a licensed mental health counselor and art therapist. I have worked in, and have experience in addictions.

My approach to counseling is unique to you, the client. Every person's needs, stories, and personality are different and those factors should be taken into account when building a relationship with a counselor and establishing a treatment plan. You are the expert in your own life and have invited me to sit with you and help hold certain parts. While the work comes from you, it is my pleasure to create a space where you can be yourself and begin to heal.
