Using trauma-informed attachment focused psychotherapy we provide parents with therapeutic skills to help their children heal. I have worked with families, kids, & adults for 25 of years who have various mental illnesses and emotional challenges. After 35 years of providing neuropsychological assessment and psychotherapy at my Schaumburg office on Woodfield Road, I am in the process of retiring. I have sold my practice office to a physician and no longer have a physical location. I am not accepting any new neuropsychological assessment patients, although I intend to continue providing telehealth to current patients and may accept some new therapy patients and perform consultation services on a very limited basis. She has expertise with individuals who experience mood difficulties, generalized anxiety or panic, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, addiction, trauma, divorce, parenting difficulties, and significant life transitions. Additionally, she specializes in eating disorder treatment, specifically binge eating, compulsive overeating, emotional overeating, and mindless eating.

Throughout her career, Amber Burchett, LPC, worked in outpatient and residential programs treating issues such as mood disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, trauma, anger management, and more. She is also a volunteer at PAWWs, where dogs are trained to assist veterans struggling with PTSD and traumatic brain injuries. In therapy, Amber takes a holistic approach and uses whatever methods necessary to assist the client. She is skilled in CBT, DBT, ACT, Solution Focused / Positive Psychology, and more.
