By answering this questions, clients/patients identify and eventually change self-defeating habits, beliefs, and patterns caused by trauma, substance abuse/addiction, and chronic stress. Signs of negative impact include anger, low mood,multiple marriages, work problems, and eventually job loss.

I specialize in working with children, adolescents, young adults, and those in life transitions. I use a client centered, holistic approach to treatment in conjunction with evidenced-based psychotherapy such as DBT and CBT. I incorporate meditation, mindfulness, and behavioral modification techniques into assisting clients with change. My goal in treatment is to help clients reduce problematic symptoms and behaviors, identify root cause of issues and improve overall daily functioning and mood.

My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that each individual has the capacity to affect change in his/her life. I also believe in my responsibility to actively engage with my client and facilitate their movement through their issues and feelings. Different theoretical interventions may be more facilitative depending on one's particular needs, one's background, one's view of the world, and one's capacity for insight. As a therapist, I truly consider the individual as a whole and attempt to utilize the most effective tool to facilitate progress towards independent wellness given the particular needs and challenges of my client.

I have been working in the Chicago area with communities of different populations since 2010. My experience is largely with adolescents and young adults, but I also work with elementary age children as well as families and individuals with special needs. In my sessions, I like to utilize Art Therapy and mindfulness to help my clients learn to process their emotions and thoughts in a unique way. Areas that can be processed through art therapy can vary depending on client needs, but can include- trauma and acute stress, anxiety and depression, changes in family, academic difficulties, and much more.
