I am a proud Latina, bridging the gap for access to culturally informed mental health services within our communities of color. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. My name is Jessica Rosales, I am Latina, born and raised in Chicago, and bilingual in Spanish. I have over 13 years of experience in the field of psychology. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Arts degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am a partner at Rare Mind Counseling, Consulting, and Mediation Services, PLLC. At Rare Mind, our mission is to provide comprehensive, professional, and culturally sensitive therapeutic services.

I offer a warm, compassionate space for clients to explore inner struggles in order to achieve a fuller life. I provide a non-judgmental space, where you can feel comfortable exploring parts of yourself that might make you feel many types of emotions. My approach is gentle, non-judgmental and exploratory. I have a warm interpersonal style, with a balance of humor, and intentional-direct feedback. My clinical approach is mainly CBT, Humanistic, Mindfulness and Solution-Focused. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and am skilled at Relationship Building.

As a clinical therapist I am passionate about my profession and care for my clients. I am a Licensed Certified Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC) and Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) with nine 9 years of extensive experience in Trauma, Domestic Violence, Mood Disorders and Alcohol and Drugs.

There are times life runs smoothly and then an unexpected loss is experienced causing a grief reaction with many confusing and overwhelming emotions. The loss may be through the death of a loved one or a non death related loss such as job loss, loss of possessions, acquired disabilities, or life changing events. At times, a person may need guidance to help with those adjustments.

Applying theoretical application into practice varies from person to person as I assess, analyze, and evaluate the “self” through one on one counseling, therapy, observation, active listening, communication, surveys, and much more through clinical intervention and exploration.
