My clients are looking to find authentic self expression and freedom to be their creative selves. My clients mostly struggle with mood, trauma, and eating disorders, and are looking to recover their authentic self and creativity. My clients are interested in identity and self-discovery and our aim in therapy is to help them find relief from trauma and unhelpful behaviors through a compassionate lens. My clients are often looking to cultivate confidence in themselves and a deeper trust in their body and intuition, and to feel more free in their lives, follow their purpose, and cultivate meaningful relationships.

I specialize in working with individuals and families where there has been sexual, emotional, or physical abuse in their history. I also work with juvenile and adult offenders. This is my 50th year as a therapist. I also work with substance abuse issues and couples. I work with children from age 5 and up, as long as the family is willing to also come in. I am willing to attend and testify in court issues.

I love working with couples. I know how difficult it is to get caught up in the negative repeated dance of conflict that feels unresolvable. I work with couples to focus on the attachment or bonding issues that come up in conflicts. When we feel truly secure with one another we can hear issues without negative escalation that just angers and terrifies each other. When I am not working with couples I work with people who are committed to recover from depression, anxiety, addictions (chemical and behavioral), PTSD, relationship issues, sexuality and death and dying issues. I have been a psychotherapist working in the Mental Health field since 1994. My education entailed a BS in Psychology and a BA in history from the University of Washington and MA in psychology from Antioch University. I have worked in a variety of settings in the Mental Health Field including working as a supervisor at the King County Crisis Line for ten years and recently at Harborview doing crisis intervention and psychotherapy. My passion has always been doing therapy and helping people have better lives. The process of therapy and success needs to be defined by the patient. My style of therapy after 25 years is my own.
