Are you a new mom struggling to connect with your baby? Or perhaps an adult child struggling with the loss of a parent? Difficulty talking to your rebellious teen? Or maybe a decades long dispute with an estranged sibling? Each life stage has it's own challenges, and each family has it's own unique set of rules, boundaries, roles and communication styles.
Whether its play therapy for younger children, helping a high school/college age older adolescent work through a problem, strategies for depression and anxiety, or therapists to work with older adults on grief and loss - we have you covered. Our practice specializes in providing services that cover the life span - "Every Season of Life." It is our goal to "give therapy away" and teach people how to become their own therapist. We actively work to teach the skills needed to move past problems and live a successful life. We utilize a variety of techniques, including homework, art activities, role-plays - all tailored to you and your needs.

I also support medical providers dealing with stress, clients facing grief, loss, as well as men's issues, relationship challenges and anger management.
Reaching out for help can be one of the most challenging steps on the path to healing and self-growth. Finding the right therapist—someone who makes you feel supported, understood, and safe—is essential. I believe that a sense of humor can also be a crucial part of this journey. Here’s a little about me to help you decide if we might be a good fit.

We are not meant to live life alone, but rather deeply involved in relationships. Some of these relationships are highly successful, while others have come with great loss, significant struggle or just the every day difficulty of learning to live and enjoy life with another person. I believe in the value of working through personal problems in the context of building stronger relationships. I will help you work through this on a personal level or with whomever you are needing to have a restored relationship with.

The four pillars of my practice are self-care wellness, building self-love, self-confidence, and self-compassion. Your happiness and mental wellness are the cornerstones of healthy relationships with yourself and others. We all have the insight to resolve any barriers in life. Identifying and developing self-empowerment and having the ability to implement and reinforce personal boundaries provide the vehicle to support one to become aware of what is needed to overcome these obstacles.

I find that I work well with clients who have had relational trauma that affects their current relationships with themselves and others. This can often present in the form of negative self-talk and self-esteem, perfectionism, persistent feelings of guilt and shame, anxiety, and depression. I have ample experience working specifically with those who have a history of abuse from a partner, friend, or family member, adult children of narcissistic parents, LGBTQIA+, religious trauma, those deconstructing religion, exvangelical

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
