I help you have compassion for challenging feelings by acknowledging how these feelings are separate from our inner spirit and thus don’t define our worth. Over the past 42 years, I have devoted my practice to the treatment of people who want to feel happier with themselves, their relationships with their children, spouses, or family of origin. Many times people suffer from low self esteem, anxiety and depression. Parents come in with issues around their adolescent's behavior. Adults wish to improve how they communicate to their spouses, or would like to deal more effectively with problems at work and with bosses, or other authority figures. Many need help with everyday functioning, and some are struggling with confidence issues and initiative to set positive goals for the future.

I strongly feel that healing can take place only in the context of a relationship in which someone experiences safety, compassion and understanding. It is through this process that people can awaken in themselves the possibilities for growth and transformation, often hidden by the negative effects of trauma, depression, anxiety, anger and loss. In my treatment approach, I communicate to my patients that they are not alone in their suffering, that they have the strength to tolerate the uncertainties of life, and they do have choices even if they feel stuck and alone.
