Throughout my life, I have had anxiety and panic attacks and have struggled with feeling secure in my own identity as a queer person.
Are you looking seeking a safe non- judgmental space to feel comfortable talking about the uncomfortable? I know how hard it can be to navigate feelings of anxiety, depression, struggles with substance use, and safety in the crazy world we live in. You dont have to feel ashamed of your feelings. I have created a safe space for you to talk about your feelings with zero judgement. You and I will gently bump up against the feelings of depression and anxiety and explore ways that will improve your overall quality of life. We move at a comfortable pace for you.

Relationship therapy isn't just for married people; it is helpful for cohabiting couples, people in ENMRs, LGBTQ people, siblings dealing with family issues, or even business partners.
Are you experiencing frustration and disagreement in your relationship? Feeling defensive, shut down, or overwhelmed? Feeling like you are beating your head against the wall hoping for a different outcome? Do you feel stuck and crave more in your relationship? Do you feel lonely, taken for granted, and unappreciated? Do you carry the burden of the responsibilities in your home? Do you struggle to change your partner’s mind about divorce, rebuild trust, forgive and be forgiven, or save a marriage after an affair? Do you want to rekindle your love and passion, and most importantly understand how much you love your lives together?

As a therapist, I work with you, specializing in helping clients through periods of transition, sadness, trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, career uncertainty, and spiritual disconnection.
Sometimes, Life takes us away from ourselves, away from our own wisdom. The chatter of the past, the chaos of the world, the day-to-day obligations, fears/uncertainties—it’s not surprising that we may get lost and miss that which brings us joy and offers us meaning. When the present is painful/uncomfortable, we are even more likely to shy away to block the hurt. This is a reality we all face. As I have learned in my own journey, it is crucial to develop connectedness, balance, curiosity, make sense of life’s difficulties, mourn losses, celebrate joys, get to know the authentic self, and find the courage to live intentionally.

Congratulations on taking this step in seeking help and support for yourself or your family. I work with children and adolescents, families, men, and women. My 20-plus years of clinical work with children and families is built on an attachment-oriented foundation and is informed by my personal experience as an adoptive parent and training in relevant play and family therapies. Regardless of a child’s emotional/behavioral presentation or attachment (RAD) history, I view parents as partners in their child’s therapeutic process and support and guide them, in parent sessions and/or in family sessions with their child.

Do you find yourself being triggered by everything and everyone around you? Do you feel like you're walking on eggshells and unsure of what's next? As uncomfortable as this is, many individuals struggle with these problems and others like anxiety, depression, managing interpersonal relationships and much more due to their traumatic experiences. Many experience trauma in their everyday lives ranging from acute, chronic, and generational. Becoming aware and learning how to navigate the effects of trauma is a necessary step towards healing.

LGBTQ+ Therapists

Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?

Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?

You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?

Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?

While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
