I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in private practice with over 8 years of professional experience working across a variety of settings, including acute mental health, chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, PTSD and family therapy. I enjoy working with adults of all ages and have experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings as well as individual and group therapy. In addition to advanced training in addictions, I also have experience and training in maternal and perinatal counseling. Perinatal mental health covers the period of pregnancy up to a year after birth.

I am an enthusiastic counseling professional with a passion for individual, family, and group counseling with adolescence through adulthood. I have extensive experience with a diverse client population and a broad range of presenting issues, including military life, trauma, and racial disparity.

Kristen obtained her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling with an emphasis on Adolescent and Childhood Disorders from Grand Canyon University. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Family Studies. She graduated in May of 2020 and is currently working toward her second Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis on Autism Spectrum Disorders. Kristen is passionate about helping children, adolescents, neurodivergent people and adult women realize their potential as individuals and their roles in relationships.

At Madison Family Counseling, our four therapists provide therapy to ages 2 through adulthood. Janeah connects therapeutically with children ages 2-11 using Play Therapy and Animal-Assisted Therapy. Shontell provides therapy to ages 8-adulthood focusing on family dynamics, trauma, and behaviors. Allison provides biblical counseling, offering a reminder that God is right alongside us in our journey of worries and hardships. We also offer marriage and family counseling, and parent education and support is available too.
