I am a licensed clinical social worker with a holistic approach to treatment. I have over thirty years of clinical experience. To best help my clients I make a point of keeping abreast of current and new theories, and integrate them with traditional strategies. I help individuals, couples and families negotiate through a large variety of issues and life transitions. My specializations include: anxiety, depression and bipolar disorders, grief and loss, women's issues, addiction issues, trauma, dysfunctional and toxic relationships, and navigating through stage of life issues.

Welcome! We are a collaborative of mental health practitioners who specialize in working with the interconnected impact of Trauma in a person’s life, and supporting them to heal. Most of our clients are navigating symptoms of PTSD/C-PTSD (including military sexual trauma, moral injury, combat and Veteran trauma), depression, anxiety, gender, sexuality, substance use, or the Schizophrenia spectrum. We also work with perinatal mental health, including the complexities and trauma that can occur for individuals/families navigating pregnancy and fertility. We work with a wide range of mental health crises, mood, and behavioral symptoms.

I believe that couples and family therapy can provide a uniquely powerful context for relational growth. After receiving invaluable warmth & empathy during my own experience of therapy, I felt obliged to give back to others the same compassion. My approach is eclectic & collaborative; incorporating the Biopsychosocial-Spiritual model with non-pathologizing, IFS-informed parts work with the goal of empowering the client to discover their own healing.

I am a clinical social worker who provides individual therapy for adults. As a therapist my role is to provide a non-judgmental, safe environment for individuals to explore their life issues and support them in their personal growth. I find that a lot of us struggle with listening to our inner critic and often beat ourselves up for past regrets, as well as spending a lot of valuable time worrying about the past and the "what if's" in the future. I hope we can work together to quiet this critic and find a way to enjoy the present.

Feelings of depression, fear, anxiety, confusion, anger, grief, trauma, and other struggles beset us all at times. I believe creating an environment where everyone can feel safe and heard is vital, and cultivating a therapeutic alliance to be alongside individuals as a nonjudgmental support in the journey to wholeness and independence. I listen for unique needs and preferences and utilize an eclectic and integrated approach to working with the whole person. With empathy and compassion I will also ask challenging questions to explore ideas, new ways of thinking and understanding, and guide intuitive discovery for meaningful change.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults and helping clients learn how to apply coping skills in day to day life, recognize how past events impact their present emotions, and improve their ability to have successful relationships. Whether this is adjusting to new roles in life, coping with overwhelming anxiety or enduring the stifling impact of traumatic experiences, there is all the aptitude needed to deal with these problems within the client. I can assist the client in developing and strengthening the skills needed to effectively manage their lives.

Currently accepting new clients from 9-5 on weekdays. I have experience working with people with a range of challenges including anxiety, family concerns, trauma, grief, and life transitions like starting or leaving college, job or career changes, etc. I find it particularly rewarding working with those who have experienced sexual abuse or assault and are working to recover, thrive, and live well. If you are experiencing these things, I am here to help you. I see clients in-person in Athens, GA or virtually across the State of Georgia. I offer individual counseling services to adults (18+).
