Hello and welcome, I'm Rebecca and I hope to assist you on your journey of working through challenges and creating a happier you. My background includes a degree in Human Development and Family Sciences from the University of Georgia and a Master of Social Work Degree from Georgia State University. I have experience working with individuals that have anxiety, depression, anger, and individuals who have experienced traumatic events. In addition, I have extensive experience in working with children, adolescents, and families who have been involved with the foster care system.

I believe that someone's thoughts have a great impact on how that person feels and acts. I show how these thoughts form habits and offer practical tools to help people change their habits and change their lives. I like working with people who are experiencing that "stuck" feeling, that we all, at times, go through. I work well with people experiencing anxiety, depression, and people who suffer from low self-esteem. I like helping people learn stress management and to develop coping skills. I also help people who experience anger due to their circumstances. I have considerable experience dealing with grief and loss.

Most people want to thrive and do well; however, they do not always have the tools needed to do so. Our passion is to inform, inspire, and increase an individual's self-awareness/sufficiency. We partner with the client to create an individualized plan that fosters positive personal effectiveness. It is our belief that anyone can benefit from receiving individualized care that can increase self-esteem, decrease stress factors, improve communication, and nurture positive change in one's life.

Life can be both exhilarating and terrifying! The world clouds our minds and emotions and sometimes we just need a safe place to sort it all out and CONNECT. I enjoy working with clients to help them find balance, to feel known, seen, respected and cherished in their relationships. We all have past hurt and fears and expectations that trip us up! I help clients understand themselves and their spouse better. From there we can begin to untangle and lay a new foundation built from purposeful communication, new emotional connection and intentional actions and habits that make life more solid. Brandy's belief is that spirituality/religion are important elements of many people's lives. Her orientation as a counselor is from an Adlerian perspective where she seeks to understand what a client is striving towards; what motivates them; any misunderstandings and mistaken goals; and assist in moving towards success at life's tasks. Brandy typically focuses on the relationship and psychoeducation and uses encouragement. Her goal is to encourage growth and for clients to understand their power to change; for them to gain awareness through psychoeducation; and for them to be able to apply information and insight to their situation.

Relationships are hard work. You desire to be the individual that you are, but also try to figure out how to overcome the changes that being in a relationship can bring. Not all relationships are created equal. I want to help you cultivate a healthy relationship (whatever that may look like for you) as well as encourage a healthy relationship with yourself.
