The client that might be best suited for my style of therapy are adults who are looking for a change in life but are often reluctant to reach out for support. Therapy is an unknown and can be intimidating, that's why I like to focus is on a client's strengths instead of their weaknesses, which can allow for a client to build up the good in their life by constructing solutions, rather than focusing on the problems. I like to support and guide a client in developing ways to handle whatever might be causing them stress and help them find more positive ways to cope and move forward in their life journey.

Life can be challenging....these are unsettling times. It is difficult, to say the least, to manage family stress and connection. Are you struggling to manage your family relationships, with your spouse or domestic partner, children, and other family members? Are your children struggling in school and managing family and social life? Are there additional challenges? ADHD, Autism, or developmental disability?....Have you ever said to yourself, "why me?" or "I wish they would just stop. As a parent, have you ever asked, "what's going to happen to my kid?" Have you ever struggled with trauma or substance abuse, if so, I can help.

Not accepting new clients
Practice FULL, NOT accepting new clients at this time. After 25+ years of experience, I have found that even during intense stress, struggles, pains, hurts, and failures, people are amazingly resilient. As a licensed psychotherapist, I consider all aspects of a person: mental, emotional, and physical health; faith and spiritual considerations; culture, and lifestyle. Working together, a focus emerges and the process begins that assists in gaining a clearer and deeper understanding of themselves and others, while experiencing a renewed purpose, meaning, and identity through their beliefs, values, and faith...a life worth living.

Are you struggling with dating or relationship issues? Are you experiencing anxiety or depression, low self-esteem, or finding a lack of meaning in life? I'm here to help. My interest in becoming a helping professional began in high school when I was looking for someone to guide me through my issues as a teenager. After seeing the overwhelmingly positive impact counseling had on me, I made it my passion and mission to return the favor to others. I have worked in the private practice setting for the past 3 and a half years and have helped clients from all walks of life, and specialize in the aforementioned areas.

As men we often feel stuck and find it difficult to move forward. Life has a way of doing that. We often ask ourselves, "what happened?" "How did I get here?" It could be a host of reasons, past traumas, grief, depression, loneliness, regrets, abandonment, relationship issues. Does any of that sounds familiar? I know that society says men don't go to therapy. This stigma has contributed to you being stuck. It has paralyzed you from moving beyond your past. I want to let you know that it's never too late to talk to someone. As a man I get it. And sometimes it takes another man to get it. Call me, I want to empoweru to a better you

Marriage Counseling Therapists

How does marriage counseling work?

Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.

How long does marriage counseling typically last?

Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.

Is marriage counseling effective?

Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?

Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
