"I feel stuck." "I don't know if I like myself." "I want healthy relationships with myself and others but I am not sure how to get there." "I criticize my appearance constantly." When you feel stuck, the weight of the world can become too heavy to carry alone. I am here to help.

I am passionate about supporting the personal well-being of each person. Some of our hardest moments result from stress and relationship discord, and It’s difficult to see our strengths when we feel overwhelmed. I think everyone deserves the opportunity for healing, growth, and building resilience. A balance of warmth, wisdom, and learning has served me in years of living life, raising a family, and nurturing long-term relationships.

If you or your teen are struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, behavior management, identity, healing trauma, life transitions, or general stress and overwhelm, I may be a good fit to meet your needs. I aim to create an experience for both teens and adults that doesn't make therapy yet another chore. It's okay if you're resistant to therapy, have had not-so-great experiences in the past, or you don't even know where to begin. Beginning therapy is incredibly vulnerable, but it does not mean you are broken. You simply need some tools and support.

Hearing people's stories is what I truly love to do. That is why I became a counselor. That is what I would want to spend my time doing even if it wasn't my career. Human beings are complex, that is true. And we are beautiful in endless ways, good when all is stripped away, and valuable beyond anything else in all of creation. To know and be known is one of the sweetest experiences of life. Along with being loved and securely belonging to other human beings. I hope my work gives these kind of gifts.

I believe that all of us want to live meaningful lives, connected to loved ones and contributing to the world in some way. To do so, we must learn to fully accept ourselves, connect with others in healthy ways, and develop our unique gifts. My intention as a therapist is to create a warm and safe space for you to do the brave work of addressing past wounds, updating stories that keep you small, and helping you grow a sense of inner peace and outer resilience. As social animals, we humans often need trusted relational support to heal and evolve into our true potential. I am honored to be that person and create that space for you!

I believe people seek out therapy because they are in need of non-judgement and unconditional positive regard, whatever it is that is causing suffering. I approach all of my sessions this way. So many of us are experiencing burn-out, depression, anxiety, even post-partum and find ourselves feeling alone despite the circle of friends and family surrounding us. That is where I come in. I am here to listen and support you in achieving whatever your goals are and I am always open to feedback as I know that people need to be heard and each person requires a different approach.

I specialize in women in mid-life, who may be experiencing peri-menopause symptoms in addition to other life concerns.
Are you ready for change? Feeling anxious, depressed, perhaps in physical pain as well and experiencing symptoms you haven't felt before and don't know why? I work with individuals who have reached a point where they realize they need to do something different, because what they used to do is no longer working. You know you don't feel good, but you don't know what to do next to feel better. Perhaps you have felt increased anxiety, are questioning your long term relationship, are overwhelmed with taking care of kids and/or parents, and feel physically exhausted. Maybe you want to change long term behavior patterns.

My therapeutic approach is best described as a cognitive-behavioral-affective approach which utilizes a humanistic-existential base to strategically enact change through direct experience through a challenge. It is client-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based. I use an eclectic blend of modalities including humanistic, CBT/mindfulness, motivational interviewing, solution- focused, and existential psychology. I focus on personal rehabilitation, growth, development, and enhancement of an individual's physical, social and psychological well-being through the application of structured activities involving direct experience.

I believe an excellent therapist meets every client where they’re at. Navigating this world with presence and grace is more accessible and meaningful with someone to help process your experiences. We all need someone to talk to sometimes, and I strive to create an integrated and unique safe space for each client to unfold their narratives, fears, hopes and discover their untapped resources. Many people grapple with traumatic stress. It can interfere with our lives, relationships, and overall well-being. Ignoring or suppressing it may be tempting but will only make it worse.

You are looking to thrive. You want life to feel different, even if you're not yet sure how. As a client, I invite you to practice new futures and live into new narratives. Healing is creating possibilities, through safety and connection. I aim to support your shift into more resilient states and to discover more ease in your daily life. Populations I particularly enjoy working with include those between the ages of 20-40, queer folks, people who have experienced outdoor trauma or accidents, and those in transitions.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
