I have been working with kids, teens, adults and families in some role for over 30 years. Having worked as direct care staff while in grad-school, church staff, teaching, and as a therapist, I have had many opportunities to help individuals and families to build on their strengths, and overcome their weaknesses. In addition to my work, I am a parent. In fact I have been a parent in a wonderfully blended family where I have had the privilege to parent 21 children.

I am an LPC Associate, supervised by Miranda Solis, LPC-S. I have worked with teens while they were hospitalized for self-harm or suicidal ideation, teens currently in the child welfare system in the group home setting, and children and families following an outcry of abuse. A big part of working with this population is working with their parents, so I could be a good fit if your child has experienced any of these problems. I also have experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, and bipolar disorder. My age range is from age 8-80.

Nearly 2 years ago, my eldest child shared that she is transgender. I initially had no idea what to do. I was scared, and confused, even ashamed and guilty. I am a pediatrician who has worked with suicidal youth and understand the consequences of parental rejection, but I still struggled with my child's gender. Today, I know better. My child comes first and so does yours. I help parents love, accept, understand, and support their LGBTQ+ children so they can thrive and live out loud without judgment or limitations. I work primarily as a social worker, in which I support parents and their children, provide them with resources, and help them be successful in any way that they may need.
