Hi there, I am here to help you. I work with individuals, couples, and families with struggles ranging from current life issues, relationship struggles, and issues that have been a lifelong battle. Clients often come to me because they have hit the lowest point and have never felt more alone, even after trying therapy countless times before. Many clients have left counseling finding resolution and a drive to live their life to the fullest. My clients have expressed finding healing, feeling equipped to manage life, and having healthier relationships and connections with others that they previously thought weren't possible.

Starting therapy is an important decision, and one that we're often making when we're struggling the most. I make this process feel as safe and comfortable as possible by helping you understand what to expect, collaboratively setting treatment goals, and making sure that we're moving at a pace that feels manageable to you. I believe my clients intuitively know what is most important to them. Life sometimes makes it hard for us to keep this focus or understand what we need. When you're caught in an unhealthy cycle or feel disconnected from the people and things you value, I will support you as you build the life you want to live.

As a clinician, I approach my work from a holistic, trauma-informed lens. An individual's mental health and overall happiness are based on a number of different factors that are unique to that individual. Therapy is a collaborative effort that takes compassion, reflection, & creativity. It takes courage to walk in and sit down with someone to share your story. An honest story that includes stress, anxieties, sadness, grief, and emotional suffering. My intention as a therapist is to create a safe and inclusive space for clients. This space allows individuals to open up and be present with the emotions, thoughts, and feelings that make up the human experience. I currently specialize in working with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, and relationship issues.

I work with adults (ages 18+) who want to work on anxiety, trauma (PTSD and CPTSD), recovering from abuse (emotional, physical, spiritual, and sexual), life transitions, and women’s issues.
Living in a constant state of threat, insecurity, and anxiety does not need to be your normal. Together we will explore the root of your concerns and address them so that you’re no longer living in survival mode. My hope is that you walk away from therapy having gained an understanding of yourself and a sense of harmony with your mind, body, and spirit.

Some of my specialty areas are Attachment- Based Issues, Anxiety and Depressive/ Mood Disorders, Addictions/Substance Abuse, Post Traumatic Disorders, Trauma, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, Couples Therapy, Divorce, Women's Health Issues, Chronic Pain, Yoga, Somatic based Therapies, and Spirituality.
I went into the field of psychology because I love helping people transform to the best version of themselves. We all need a safe place to understand ourselves and how we relate to others/self. I often say "We need to be Mindful of our Total-Well Being and that our minds and our bodies are an inter-connected systems. Where the mind goes, so does the man or woman in their actions and body states. We go to the physician for our physical health, so how much healthier would we be if we went to our psychologist for our mental health?" At heart, I am a holistic practitioner and love seeing my clients Thrive.

When you do your best, you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse and regret.
My theory is to promote positive reinforcement. Choices should be used to provide a model for understanding human emotions, behaviors and thoughts. Understanding choices in decision making will give you the encouragement to move forward.

I support adults who have experienced abuse and trauma and want to feel safer in the world.
You’ve been through things that haunt you and pull you back into your past. Perhaps you’re worried if you face them they will overwhelm you. This paralyzes you or creates anxiety. Or maybe you push down your feelings and try to live the life you want but keep ending up with people who hurt you. You want to break out of the cycle, but you’re not sure where to start. You need hope for recovery from shame and trauma. You need someone to help you to the next part of your story - a warm space to be yourself and not feel judged. A place to ask big questions, to grieve what’s been lost and to hope for what’s next.

Domestic Abuse Therapists

What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?

Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?

Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?

Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?

It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
