The long term goal of Calm Seas as a whole is to support our Law Enforcement families from the start of their careers (DAY ONE) until they retire and move into the next phase of their lives. We are here to help through and prevent the long term affects of trauma, addiction, divorce, and suicide.

I offer virtual therapy specializing in stress, trauma, grief, anxiety, and PTSD. Stress, pain, fear, and confusion are alarm clocks that beg to be heard and answered. Therapy is one way to turn down the noise and listen to our inner voice. We can't always control what is outside of us, but we do have the agency to engage self-mastery that guides that inner voice toward wisdom that heals and integrates the pieces we may have lost along the way.

As a therapist, Raquel enters into each session focused on your specific goals and needs at the core. She truly believes that therapy is an effective way in which mental and emotional health can be managed and improved. Many of her clients are individuals dealing with symptoms related to anxiety, depression, relational distress, childhood trauma, and neurodiversity. She works with persons of all backgrounds and diversities, including LGBTQ+, multi-cultures, nontraditional relationships & families, etc.

Dr. Chen has extensive experience working w/ substance use, eating disorders, PTSD, and mood disorders. Dr. Chen completed his clinical training at multiple clinics and also specializes in self-esteem and confidence development. The first goal is to understand why a person is struggling. Then, work with the patient to build resiliency and strength to adapt and overcome life's challenges. Dr. Chen incorporates real-world experiences/exposures with CBT/DBT and social skills training into his therapies to maximize the therapy gains. A focus of therapy is also on the development of happiness and finding the purpose/meaning for life.
