Insight Inverse Counseling has 2 dedicated therapists, Therese(LCSW)/Mariah(LPC) We are ready to work together in meeting your goals and putting over 10 years of knowledge and experience to use in helping you find your center and trusting yourself and your abilities to find out/remember who you are. We are a trauma informed group who specialize in working with adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds who are struggling with stress, trauma disorders, anxiety and depression. When you contact us, you will be received with care, and paired with a therapist who is educated and motivated in helpful, proven therapeutic techniques.

For over 25 years, Dr. Blackwell has worked with adults who have needed help coping with anxiety, depression, stress, and personal relationship difficulties. Many of his clients have gone on to experience a higher quality of life while enjoying loving, meaningful & fulfilling relationships.

I have over ten years of experience helping manage issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, substance use disorders, domestic violence, and family conflict.I strive to provide a caring, safe, and confidential environment to explore issues that may be getting in the way of a more personally fulfilling life. It is my goal to provide individuals with the tools needed to move beyond old, limiting beliefs and behaviors to a more rewarding place in their lives.

My scope of practice covers Neuro-Developmental, Depressive, Anxiety, Trauma, Disruptive, Impulse-Control and Conduct Disorders. I treat my clients through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I help my clients become aware that their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and emotions can lead to problematic behaviors. Through CBT I help clients identify and challenge these negative thoughts, and replace them with more positive and constructive ones reducing emotional distress.

Now have an office in Greenwich. Dual Diagnosed patients are a specialty. CBT, DBT, & insight oriented treatment methods for mood, anxiety disorders. Drug/alcohol addiction. Also seeing and responding to recent crises among teens and young adults. Accepting nearly all insurances including Husky and Medicare. We respond to all inquiries for service within 24 hours. I have worked with a wide range of individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, abandonment, low self-esteem, and helplessness. I work with couples as well as families to build a bridge and achieve conflict and communication goals. A person working with me should expect a nonjudgmental supportive approach.
