I have conducted therapy with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples.
It's amazing how our life can affects us, sometimes good and sometimes bad. I believe that life is about taking small steps to help us achieve our overall goals. Unfortunately, challenges, stressors and doubts can get in our way, making our journey difficult, confusing, uncertain and sometimes scary. I am here to help and support you on your journey. After working in non profits organizations, I have over 9 years of experience working with clients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, domestic violence, parenting issues, grief/loss, sexual assault, generational trauma, co parenting struggles, work related stressors and suicide.

Do you ever find yourself needing someone to talk to? Do you find your thoughts taking over your mind on a daily basis? The first step to gaining control over your emotions is to reach out for help. I have specialized in helping my clients reach their therapeutic goals through personalized therapy. My vast experience in catering to individuals, couples, and families, has allowed me to individualize the therapeutic process of all my clients. My specialties include helping clients overcome PTSD, Divorce, and Anxiety, which I have found to be some of the main sources of one's emotional struggle.

In couples therapy we will work together to increase a deeper, more meaningful understanding of each other and love between partners.
We will work together to overcome any anxiety, depression, or stressful life changes such as marriage, death, pregnancy and postpartum issues. I will provide a safe, supportive and authentic environment that will help you work through these issues while encouraging growth, self acceptance and an overall improvement in the quality of your life. I find that using a combination of existential/depth work along with behavioral therapy provides long lasting benefits and true change.

I teach my clients about the relationship between body, mind and emotions, and we address all three aspects in each session to create permanent change.
During this extraordinary time of increased stress and uncertainty many of us are overwhelmed; facing pain, fear and anxiety as never before. I am an expert in working with clients to confront these challenges. I customize therapeutic methods and help clients develop strategies to overcome individual issues and achieve a balanced approach to life under any circumstances. After 20 years I am still constantly researching, and employ both old and new approaches with my clients. Client relationships are built on a foundation of trust and understanding, and I ensure a safe and professional environment, in-person or through telehealth.

As a psychoanalyst with over a decade of experience, I work with individuals and couples to find underlying causes of painful symptoms like anxiety and depression, work through impasses in attachments with other people, and overcome inhibitions about achieving goals.
One of the hardest challenges in life is discovering new paths to follow when you feel stuck. Issues below the surface of your awareness could be keeping you from finding answers on your own, and so you've taken this first important step of looking for a therapist to help you achieve deeper understanding. In a collaborative therapy setting, we can explore how clearly you see yourself and others, how you approach or avoid life-affirming possibilities, and how to break through the barriers to change that have been in your way. My priority as a therapist is that you feel fully heard and known as we take this journey together.

As a licensed psychologist, I provide therapy to individuals, couples, & families.
Not feeling like your "usual self" but can't figure out why? Are you irritable, uninterested in your previously enjoyable activities, or disengaged from daily life? Is your mind replaying old scenarios or repeating "What if" questions and worrisome thoughts? Perhaps your current coping skills just aren't hitting the mark this time... Involved in a relationship where either you or your partner seem plagued by "trust issues", insecurity, and revolving arguments? Are you seeing changes in expressions of love and sexual interest or thinking "my significant other doesn't understand me?"

I have extensive experience working with youth, adults, older adults, couples, and the LGBTQ/SOGI community.
Life is a journey. We all struggle at times and need a safe environment in which we can explore our feelings, build greater understanding of ourselves and others, and develop positive coping skills. I meet clients "where they are at" in their lives journey. I believe in a nonthreatening approach, where clients feel safe and free to be themselves. My goal is to help my clients navigate the ups and downs of their life by gaining greater insight into their thoughts, feelings and behaviors, and by developing the skills needed to meet life's challenges.

As Sheryl Sandberg says, "We cannot change what we are not aware of, and once we are aware, we cannot help but change." With curiosity as our leader let's become aware of what we feel and why we feel it. By leaning in we can begin to move.

We will engage in an open therapeutic relationship where I compassionately meet you where you are, helping you safely discover your true self and integrate disowned parts of yourself.
Navigating life's complexities, you often feel invisible strings pulling you in unfamiliar directions. You find yourself in repetitive emotional patterns, relationships that seem all too familiar. Intriguing dreams and symbols capture your imagination as you desire a deeper connection to your authentic self. Analytical psychoanalysis offers a path to compassionately explore these nuanced layers within you. Our work together will aim for more than quick fixes; my goal is to facilitate your profound self-realization, individuation and emotional well-being. If you’re called to go on this introspective journey I’m here to walk with you.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
