Using relational techniques, neurofeedback, trauma processing and growth tools such as the enneagram I will partner with you to find your unique path forward.
Sometimes we become stuck in dysfunctional cycles that keep us from being open to life’s possibilities. From a trauma perspective, this may be due to circumstances beyond our control. If you are often overwhelmed, angry, shut down, withdrawn, feeling too needy in relationships or constantly in survival mode you don’t have to suffer alone. Together we can find a path forward. Maybe you are a concerned parent of a teen. I offer support for teens struggling with anxiety around school, relationships, sports, body image and social activities.

Hi there! At the the core of great therapy is the therapeutic relationship between the client and their therapist. I believe very strongly in the positive changes that can occur as a result of therapy. We all have various emotional needs that can be addressed and benefit from the therapeutic process. Together, we can use effective, evidence based strategies to improve your relationship with yourself and those you care for deeply.
Hi! I am glad you are here. It takes courage to make the first step whether you are searching for yourself, your marriage, a child, or a loved one. At times we find ourselves in the middle of a life altering transition, struggling with our mental health, and in need of extra support. Asking for help can feel difficult, but getting better does not need to be! Do any of these resonate with you: lack of self love, healing from toxic relationships, wanting to truly know yourself, feel like something is missing in your life, or just anxious and unhappy? If those struggles feel familiar, please reach out to see if we would be a good fit!

I focus on building trust in the therapeutic relationship as it is a strong indicator for positive outcomes in therapy.
The only way to begin is by beginning, so I am glad you have found your way here. You may have found yourself here feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or tired of the same patterns repeating in your life. I work with individuals and couples who are in this very place and it can manifest like sexlessness in relationships, family conflict, unresolved grief, persistent anxiety, or unprocessed trauma. I will companion with you through these experiences to support you toward change. I am consistently amazed and inspired as a witness to the transformations people make during the therapeutic process.

Whether you have had a therapeutic experience before or not the first important step is that you feel heard, validated and connected. We all have many life experiences in our past and present that at times can be challenging for us to figure out and manage on our own. We need to know that we are not alone, that we can be resilient and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I want to partner with you to help you to see and reach that light and to be where you want to be.

I focus on attachment, relationships with partners, parents, siblings, & children.
You wonder how things got this way, you used to feel connected with your partner. You feel alone, confused, frustrated, misunderstood, rejected etc. You reach out, you are trying…it turns to an argument or distancing. It often seems like a blame game with defensive reactions. How do you turn this around and feel safe with your partner again, or other loved ones? You are concerned about the outcome, yet it’s not getting better. Something needs to change but you’re unsure how to approach things.

I work with adults, couples, and teens with a variety of mental health concerns including relational and developmental trauma, anxiety, sexual health concerns, relationship difficulties, identity struggles; as well as other concerns.
As humans, we are each created for connection, and when personal connections are broken it can cause problems in our lives. I strive to create a space to allow emotional exploration and vulnerability without judgment or criticism. We each have the capacity to experience joy through our own acceptance and love for self and others and when we experience acceptance and love from another we can find that joy. I desire to walk alongside each person as they explore their own unique journey. I also have a Masters Level Intern that can see client for as low as $30 per session.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
