I’m honored to work with individuals, couples, parents, and teens as they explore patterns of conflict and address past pain and trauma. I apply principles of Emotion Focused therapy to identify attachment concerns and support the process of emotional awareness. So much change is possible this way!

Often the first question a new client asks is, "Where do I begin?" So much is on your plate; it might feel like it will take forever to tell your life story and what is on your mind. My philosophy is that wherever you start is the right place. I do not follow a set script, write everything down with a pen constantly in hand, or stop the session exactly on the mark. My sessions are about building the relationship and staying relatable so that my clients feel safe to open up and explore their issues. Dialogue will be in conversation format and the client will be in control of the session.

It is my belief that each individual has a unique path that leads to healing, self-discovery and growth. As human beings, our life experiences, relationships and beliefs are varied, and as a therapist I honor these differences. I believe in the power of therapy as a means to heal through pain, but also in exploring greater meaning in one's life and relationships. I believe we can all benefit from therapy and gain valuable perspective about who we are and how we became that way. We can’t run away from the tough stuff.. Pain and suffering are a part of our human condition and can also be a huge opportunity for growth.

I am a clinical psychologist who specializes in working with children, teens and young adults. I have experience with a variety of presenting concerns including Autism Spectrum diagnoses, trauma, severe emotional disturbances, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, bullying, oppositional concerns and adjustment disorders. I believe establishing and maintaining a trusting therapeutic relationship is essential for growth. I take an approach that combines play therapy, psychodynamic therapy, family systems and behavior management strategies to gauge a client's current functioning and utilize their strengths to help promote growth.

Areas of focus include working with adults, young adults and couples struggling with relationship difficulties, self worth and self esteem issues, depression and anxiety. I also work with families who are experiencing conflict. I am direct and straightforward, yet compassionate in my approach with a focus establishing a collaborative relationship and achieving goals.

I take a person-centered approach to counseling, while utilizing tools from many other types of therapies. I feel it is important to get to the root of an issue by figuring out where it began, process through it to find healing and acceptance, and then use tools and techniques to make specific changes in thoughts and behaviors. I believe setting goals helps to track progress and can be a great motivator. I see counseling as a holistic process and integrate spiritual, physical, & mental aspects into the process, as you feel comfortable.
