I enjoy working with those that are "misunderstood". This is generally those with ADHD and Autism or even teens who are in the LGBTQ+ community or going through a major life change (i.e turning 18, going to college). It could even be compounded by trauma. My main goal through therapy is to work towards exploring how life experiences may have contributed to your perception of self. The ultimate goal for my clients is acceptance. Whether that's accepting themselves, their past, or what they can/cannot control.

I am passionate about children, teens, and parents. I chose to specialize in Child Clinical Psychology because I find children and adolescents to be fun to work with and incredibly strong and inspiring. I particularly enjoy working with those with anxiety and mood difficulties, and have extensive experience working with those with a history of traumatic experiences including abuse. Psychologists are extensively trained in both diagnostics - identifying disorders - and therapy, as well as how to use one to guide the other. I gather information from all areas of child's life to understand the child as a whole person.

We are a counseling center with a team of both male and female counselors who can help you if you are suffering from depression, anger, OCD or addictions. I enjoy working with clients who are struggling with issues that are either acute (recent) or chronic (lifelong). I find that it is particularly important to form a working relationship that will focus on a path of discovery that will begin to identify possible solutions. Often problems can be resolved quickly such as parenting issues and sometimes issues are very complex and require examining a thorough history of life experiences from childhood to the present. I am always amazed how my words stick with people for years and years and I believe that a journey of discovery takes many paths and has many time frames.

My name is Lori L. Crawford, I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. I have worked in the profession of counseling for over 15 years and I have enjoyed the journey. I have worked with all walks of life and in the process I have learned that people need people.
