I truly love what I do, and I am passionate about helping people get through difficult times, helping them to be happier and more fulfilled in their lives and relationships. In order to help more people, I formed a group practice of compassionate therapists, each with their own unique style and set of skills, and a passion for helping others.

Through evidenced based approaches, we aim to tailor our treatment approach specific to the needs of each individual. I am a clinician in both Connecticut and New York. I had extensive clinical experience working as a court appointed Guardian ad Litem, previously working in Therapeutic Foster Care and as a Psychotherapist. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from Central Connecticut State University and earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Saint Joseph. I have worked in various professional settings through direct practice and in social advocacy. I have worked alongside state non-profits in child welfare, as well as school base counseling and outpatient clinics.

The goal of my practice is to improve the quality of life of my clients and assist them reach their full potential and personal goals. Specializing in family and couple therapy. I also specialize in depression and anxiety. The ideal client will be dedicated to their own treatment and have a strong desire to feel better. Max Guttman is the owner of Recovery Now, a private mental health practice in New York City. Through his work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, therapist, and disability rights advocate, Max fights for those without a voice in various New York City care systems. He received a ‘2020 Bearcats of the Last Decade 10 Under 10’ award from the Binghamton University Alumni Association. Guttman treats clients with anxiety and depression but specializes in issues related to psychosis or schizoaffective spectrum disorders.

I am a licensed clinical social worker, who uses CBT, REBT and others modalities to assist individual, group, children, adolescents, and families to assist each person with the individual treatment needed. I work with individuals with depression, anxiety, PTSD, behavior challenges, and family conflicts. I provide therapy with an unyielding level of respect for the individual path and circumstances of every person who I have the privilege of helping. My approach, honed over decades of experience, consists of nurturing and instilling a social, mental, and emotional environment that will empower a state of wellness in my client.

Mental health program that addresses the needs of adults, adolescents, children, and families. The program encompasses a broad range of areas, including individual and family counseling, substance use and youth development. Working with adolescents and young adults has always been my passion. As a former school counselor, I use my knowledge of the school system in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy to guide teens throughout their educational experience.
