We all go through something. We face many challenges. Unfortunately, it seems to be a fact of life, a universal experience on every individual’s path. However, what we go through can vary tremendously from individual to individual. I want to help you overcome what you are going through, the challenge you’re facing; taking into consideration the personal factors that influence your experience. With warmth, respect, openness, compassion, trust, and collaboration, I work to create a safe and supportive space to help overcome challenges, while uplifting strengths and finding balance.

I started my practice in 1994 with a desire to help people through their difficult situations. As a father my heart goes out to children. I strive to meet people where they are and help them become the best they can be. The majority of my practice is made up of children and teens but I also work with a number of adults and couples. It is important to note not everyone is ready to face their struggles or change their situation. While I would like to help everyone the person must be ready and motivated for therapy to be effective.

Welcome. I am passionate in working with women and teens throughout all stages and transitions of life, to develop greater outcomes in their personal relationship with themselves and others. Utilizing a combination of approaches that assist in balancing and creating harmony in the mind, body, emotions and spirit. Working to create a space where feelings and worries can be named, and articulated. Deeply held troubles, dramatic histories, and conflict can come to light, be examined and explored, and hope, along with creative ideas can be introduced.

I truly believe everyone has the capability to heal, change, grow and learn - we sometimes just need a little help to get us there.

It's been a long road to get to where things are right now, and each of us have traveled our own way to get here. Where you go from here with therapy is no one else's process but your own, so you should be able to find a therapist that treats you and your needs individually, without judgment or assumptions. Rather than trying to generalize what works based on my experience, I enjoy the process of finding out what works for you and aligns with where you want to go next. Almost all of us fear our anger, but a nearly equal portion fear our love. This is a problem, since almost no one teaches us how to work with these forces or even what they are (let alone how they relate to each other as both separable and intermingling phenomena). Insofar as we fail to understand these basic facts, we remain fragmented and alienated from our own nature. We all love and hate, often in equal measure, by nature.

Accepting New Clients. In my 21 years of supporting people with all sorts of issues, it’s certainly clear that we just don’t get through life unscathed. We can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed and we can even feel unsafe. You may be experiencing an impasse and struggle to connect in your relationships. Maybe you have taken on negative beliefs about yourself. Having had tough transitions or traumatic events, you may now want some assistance. I offer a warm and authentic relationship creating safety to assist as you find your way.

While I have trained extensively in different therapy models, which has provided me with an in-depth psychological reference, many years of working with people has taught me relationship is central to the heart of therapy. Relationship with oneself, relationship with the therapist and my relationship with myself. The creation of an authentic relationship is a personal process that requires an open heart and an informed sensitive approach. I enjoy getting to know people. My approach to therapy is to help people heal and work through their life experiences. My expertise is working with individuals, children, families, and couples. I work with clients of all ages. My experience comes from working in rural communities, providing 10 years of psychotherapy, training other clinicians, and providing integrative care. I use CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed CBT, brain-spotting, EMDR, play therapy, and other modalities.

A person enters therapy with a strong wish, whether conscious or unconscious, to overcome obstacles and free themselves from constraints that are holding them back. I find that each individual needs a slightly different approach to accomplish these goals, so I make technique adjustments for each case. I genuinely enjoy the experience of guiding my clients through this process and consider it a privilege to play such an important role in a person's life.
