Given the climate we find ourselves in, it can be difficult to slow down, to pause. I work with individual clients ages 3 and up, adults, and romantic/intimate partners to explore communication with self and others using mindfulness and evidence-based practices to develop holistic and lasting care. Dr. Whitney Mascaro (she/her) is a compassionate and dedicated psychologist with a strong commitment to serving clients from diverse backgrounds. With expertise in a variety of therapeutic approaches, she primarily works from emotion-focused and attachment-based orientations. Depending on each person’s unique needs, she incorporates CBT, ACT, DBT, and IFS interventions. Dr. Mascaro specializes in working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, self-harm, chronic suicidality, trauma, survivors of violence, complex PTSD, relationship concerns, and sexual identity/LGBTQIA+ concerns.

MySpectrum is an outpatient therapy practice located at 707 North Courthouse Road in North Chesterfield, Virginia. We offer outpatient counseling and coaching to any person, on any spectrum. We focus on the Autism Spectrum, Mental Health Spectrum, Substance Use Spectrum, and the Whole Life Spectrum. Our philosophy is that any person, regardless of situation, should have access to skilled Therapists who will truly meet you where you are at in your journey. I recognize and respect the courage it takes to begin counseling. My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate environment in order to work on identified issues and bring about hope, peace and well-being. The Virginia Institute of Pastoral Care is a pastoral counseling center open to everyone. There is a place for you here— whether you practice a faith tradition or are searching, whether you are looking for support as you take the next steps in your life or you feel sad, stuck or unhappy. Our counselors are trained mental health professionals, many of whom are also practicing clergy. But we don’t preach: we listen. We offer counseling for children, families, couples, and adults including seniors. Group therapy services are also available.
