I am licensed in both CA & WV. I have experience treating depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, specific phobias, and trauma in clients pre-teen through late adulthood. I have served on integrative teams for parents and children in CPS cases as well as on collaborative teams providing treatment for clients residing in assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with service members and Veterans, survivors of sexual assault, and individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community, including transgender clients seeking gender reassignment surgeries.

Hi there! My name is Kendra and I am a trauma-focused licensed clinical therapist and a masters addictions counselor in the state of California. I am a native of Chicago, IL and relocated to the west coast in 2009 to embark on my personal road to recovery. While some anxiety/depression is a normal response to the hyper-violence we are facing as a collective (on screens or in reality), it can feel extremely overwhelming to experience this every day, on top of expectations from work, family, and other relationships. As a child of the Lao Isaan/Southeast Asian diaspora, my passion is working with fellow children of refugee/immigrant diasporas to feel seen + heard + validated through an anti-oppressive framework.

You’ve worked tirelessly to get to this point. You’ve made all the “right” moves and perfectly followed the instructions for how to build a “good life.” But when you take a moment to look around, all you feel is empty. There’s no passion or purpose; it’s like you’re just going through the motions. Everyone has their own idea of who you should be, and you transform yourself to meet other’s expectations. But, in the process, you’ve lost track of who you actually are. Any confidence you once had has been replaced by self-doubt and an inner voice insisting you aren’t good enough. If only there were some way to reconnect with yourself.

There is really no issue to big or too small to bring to therapy. I have seen people go through so much positive change because of their work in therapy and think it is such an awesome process. Just because we can go through life in survival mode and bouncing off our ups and downs, does not mean we should. I love to talk about everything therapy, so I encourage people to reach out.
