I bring warmth, empathy, extensive experience, and deep passion to my work as a clinician. I am a seasoned therapist, with over 30 years of experience, who you can talk easily to and trust with your deepest concerns. I view therapy as a collaborative relationship to which I bring compassion and a capacity to be completely present as we work together to resolve the challenges you struggle with. While I have specific training in family systems, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral treatment, I tailor my therapeutic approach to fit each person's unique and evolving needs.
I have particular expertise in problematic eating/body image concerns, sexually compulsive behavior, child/adolescent issues, as well as couple and family therapy. I graduated from the Women's Therapy Centre Institute and Ackerman Institute For The Family, and have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy.
I believe that individual difficulties are informed by both the familial and cultural context. With children, I engage parents, equipping them with tools to help their child make lasting changes. I help women connect their struggles to toxic messages about food and body transmitted by their families and the culture.

Groups
Mothers of Daughters With Eating Disorders
Group for mothers whose daughters struggle with eating/body image issues. Provides safe, non-judgmental space for members to empower themselves so they can support their daughters, helping members challenge the powerlessness and helplessness that accompany parenting a daughter with an eating disorder. Members explore their reactions triggered by their daughters. Group works toward strengthening each mother's anti-eating disorder voice. These voices can be mobilized to help daughters challenge destructive eating practices, challenge culturally based toxic ideas about body/food, offering new ways of thinking about living freely in a female body in our thinness obsessed culture.
