These modalities may include CBT, DBT, ACT, and ERP.
I believe that every person can benefit from therapy to address issues in their life, no matter how big or small. I help you explore the roots of your problems to facilitate understanding which can help forge the path to change. I offer practical tools and strategies to address the challenges that brought you to therapy while also working to heal the stuff that runs deep, and I approach each client with warmth and nonjudgement and look forward to working together to create the change you want. I enjoy working with a variety of issues but am particularly passionate about working with anxiety, OCD, and people with disabilities.

I utilize modalities such as CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness to help you develop skills to improve your life.
Are you wanting to be kinder towards yourself but don't know where to start? Or are you feeling "stuck" in life, experiencing relational or communication issues, or navigating life transitions? Negative self-talk, uncertainty, and stress can impact our ability to be our best selves. I aim to provide a safe therapeutic environment in order to allow you to truly heal. My goal is to build relationships while acknowledging that you are the expert of your own story.

I am a Holistic Therapist meaning I treat mental health through the lens of the whole person: emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual. I offer experiences treating depression, trauma, anxiety, eating disorders and other mental health issues aiming to bring clients into their bodies and out of the mode of traditional talk therapy. These include psychodrama, sand tray, art, and yoga therapy. Wounding happens through living, relational, body-felt experiences and require similar experiences to heal. I create a safe container and relationship for the natural process of healing to occur. Expect to move, breath, and feel... we will not just sit and talk.

You may be seeking therapy because you constantly feel overwhelmed and on edge. It’ feels like you’re walking on a tightrope and one false move spells disaster. Or you may be feeling so low it’s as if you’re moving through quicksand, pulling you deeper into despair. These days you spend all your energy trying to avoid further pain instead of living out your true purpose. Anxiety and depression often come as a package deal, especially if you’re a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). If you feel like your life is being ruled by overwhelming emotions, know that it doesn’t always have to feel this way. Peace is possible, and therapy can help.

Life gets hard. Period. Every person has a unique sort of hard, but it's hard all the same. For some of us, it's a single event that changes the trajectory of our lives. For others of us, it's a series of traumatic experiences, decisions, disappointments, or relationship betrayals that result in emotional distress. A sense that life just isn't what it was (and perhaps never will be again) develops and suddenly, "hard" feels BIGGER. Maybe you're struggling with debilitating anxiety, relationship issues, spirituality concerns, or that thick and lingering cloud of depression. Whatever your hard is, you aren't alone.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?

The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?

Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?

A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
