Together we can unpack early childhood wounds, learn to process and regulate difficult emotions, reframe and replace unhelpful thought patterns, process grief or loss, and manage difficult relationships.
Often times the greatest barrier to our healing is feeling like we are alone and have to fix things ourselves. We were never meant to walk this life alone. This is why it is my commitment as a therapist to create a safe and nonjudgmental environment where you can receive hope in the healing process.

I am here to help you embody a way of being that you are nurtured by. Pain and loss are a part of life and my work gives you a space to share and process your story, make meaning in the face of suffering, and move towards healing and growth. We all get stuck, in overwhelming emotions, unwanted behaviors, and destructive patterns in relationships.

I've worked extensively with individuals, couples, families and teens on issues related to relationships, grief, anxiety, school related issues, depression & trauma.
Struggling with anxiety, depression, or relationship issues? Do you want to have better relationships with your families and loved ones? Is your child struggling with school/family related issues such as test anxiety, bullying or stress from divorce? I can help! I believe that it's often necessary to challenge my clients and work within their pasts, to assist them in finding the root of their issues and not simply masking the symptoms. I develop highly personalized coping skills with my clients and create a warm, caring environment to assist them in engaging, in the sometimes uncomfortable processes of therapy.

When I was younger, I didn’t know how to communicate my feelings and felt frustrated by potential mischaracterization. After I had my first child, I had a difficult time navigating through postpartum depression. I started asking questions and researching mental health while finding virtual support groups. Through this process, I realized that I had s never been alone in my personal issues. When I was pregnant with my second child, I went back to school for social work to become a mental health professional to serve people in my community to help navigate through anxiety, depression, grief, and intergenerational traumas.

My approach is warm, inviting, direct and attuned. I meet my clients with interest, non-judgment, and respect. I believe that change flows easiest from self-acceptance, and that self-acceptance is nurtured through the telling, the listening, and the embodied expressions of our lives. I am driven by a profound sense that individual and community care are interwoven, and that healing is a process of mourning and meaning-making.

I am so glad you have taken the courageous next step on your journey of healing. I know how overwhelming it can be to find a provider you can trust. Under my care, I aim to provide symptom relief, a deeper and more accurate understanding of your self and others, and a warm and nonjudgemental space to be seen and heard.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
