I believe that people do not go to therapy to change who they are, but to let go of who they are not. I act as a guide for adult individuals and couples using mindfulness, relational, and cognitive therapies. Together, we identify and change unhealthy survival skills, irrational thoughts, and behavioral patterns that have lead you off course. It is through this process of becoming aware that new and fresh perspectives can be found. This will lead to increased confidence in decision making, communicating and creating healthy and fulfilling relationships with yourself & others.

I have been in private practice in the Scottsdale area for 23 years. I attended Arizona State University as an undergrad and completed my graduate work at the University of San Francisco. I work with individuals, couples, families and children. Divorce, grief, addiction, sexually alternative lifestyles, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety/depression & ADD/ADHD are just a few of my specialties. I have flexible morning and evening hours a couple days a week. I am a Board-Certified Telemental Health Provider & have flexibility for Telehealth counseling sessions. I am on numerous insurance plans as well as working on a sliding scale.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in working with teenagers and young adults struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating disorders, and more. My experience in treating these symptoms has equipped me to help those having a difficult time coping with life and may be finding themselves in self-destructive or painful patterns. Utilizing an evidenced based approach including EMDR, I work with clients to develop practical and tangible steps in learning how to self-regulate and change the emotions and negative beliefs about self that develop from painful life experiences.

I believe it is imperative that we broaden our definition of "trauma." Trauma can be ANYTHING disruptive (in addition to assault, combat, death, etc.). An unhealthy relationship; a break-up; bullying; neglect; a stressful event or period of time are all traumatic. These disruptive experiences influence what we think about ourselves and our world; and they often guide our decisions and perspectives.
