I specialize in working with infidelity, pornography use and partner trauma, life transitions, relationship improvement, depression and anxiety.

Each person’s story has successes and struggles, and I believe every individual has what it takes to find healing and growth. As an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed therapist, my efforts focus on accessing that healing and growth by exploring underlying beliefs, wounds, and fears that get in the way of you feeling connected with yourself and the important people in your life.

I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, identity struggles, betrayal trauma, pornography addiction, marriage issues, spiritual identity, faith crisis, mixed faith marriages, and problematic patterns that prevent you from being happy. I work particularly well with teens and their parents–and have experience working in adolescent residential treatment. I also work well with issues relating to adoption and attachment.

With over 13 years of clinical experience I specialize in several intersectional mental health needs: anxiety, faith transitions, self-esteem, trauma, eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, intuitive eating, ADHD, entrepreneurship, burnout, mindfulness, inner child work, boundaries, perfectionism, sexuality, coming out, emotional regulation, authenticity, & more.

I am passionate about helping individuals, couples and families find their path to discovering better mental health, increased communication skills and sense of wellbeing. My education, training, and experience includes the diagnosis and treatment of the following: ADD, abuse, anxiety, depression, marriage and family development, substance use, addiction, pornography use, cognitive distortions, men’s issues, faith issues and various diagnostic criteria. My interest and experience also includes working with high school students, older adults and the acquired brain injury population.

My goal is to enable my clients to better navigate the world around them and live more authentic and fulfilling lives. My treatment approaches is based in research on what produces the best outcomes in therapy, and our job in your therapy sessions is to help tailor that approach to your specific needs. I believe that the connection and trust you feel with me in therapy is the strongest predictor of how much you will benefit from our meetings. I will walk your path alongside you and help you work toward greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, resilience, and personal growth.

I’m a firm believer that therapy needs to be tailored for individual experiences. I’ve found that humor can be a powerful tool within the healing process when used appropriately. Working on yourself is never easy, but you should be able to enjoy the smile-worthy moments.

My ideal client is willing to talk about and feel their feelings and the way they affect their lives. Not all of my clients can talk about their feelings quite yet, or even identify them. That’s okay. Some are absolutely terrified to acknowledge or address feelings, and that’s okay too. It’s only when clients are unwilling that I personally run into a wall with my work.

By the end of each appointment with me, I want you to feel like you’ve been heard and that you’ve gained something valuable, whether that’s new coping skills or an improved sense of peace or strength. Your trauma is stored in your nervous system, so I utilize therapies like EMDR to work to relieve you of your burden. My training is in grief and trauma-related symptoms like anxiety, depression, PTSD, self-harm, and suicidality. I provide trauma-focused therapy to support you as we work together to reach your goals.

Counseling has always been that one unique ability of mine that I felt was a higher calling. The encouragement I get from watching clients meet major milestones continues to increase my passion as a therapist. I am a firm believer that there is no shame in asking for help. Regardless of how major or minor your struggle may be, having someone to talk to makes a massive difference. Additionally, I have extensive experience in addressing and healing the impact of sexual shame on one's life caused by these organizations.

I was born and raised in Utah Valley and I earned my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University in California.

I've provided over 10,000 hours of therapy and like Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." I managed LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.
