My passion is working with children, adolescents, adults and couples struggling with anxiety, depression, and difficult life transitions. I also work with divorced couples to create Co-Parenting strategies. I bring a direct, compassionate, solution focused approach as a Parent Coach with the option of Home-Based services to help reduce power struggles and restore peaceful family functioning. I also offer Educational/School Consultation support services for complex/neurodiverse clients, creating a partnership between teachers and families to better understand the accommodations necessary for success at school and at home.

Through humor, and sometimes silliness, I build authentic and genuine relationships with children and their families. My therapeutic approach is centered on the specific needs of each child. Experience includes serving as an elementary school counselor in a magnet school for the gifted: supporting general, special, and gifted education students and their families, as well as experience as a grief counselor, working with palliative care and hospice care patients and their families.

My name is Katy Morgan a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and School Counselor. I have worked with individuals, adolescents, couples and families seeking counseling for over 6 years. I believe my role as a licensed professional counselor is to provide a safe space to process feelings/emotions, gain insight into behavioral patterns, and develop coping strategies and increased self-awareness. I believe it is important to work collaboratively to identify therapy goals and to determine the techniques and strategies that will work best for the client to find improved wellbeing, personal growth, and to live a more meaningful life.

I specialize in treating children ages 2 years and up with PTSD/complex trauma, behavioral concerns and developmental disabilities. I also specialize in working with first respond and combat veterans. When working with children, I use client-centered play therapy as this allows the child to communicate through play. For my adult clients who want to heal from trauma, I provide a space to unload the trauma because trauma is a heavy burden. Together we unravel the trauma and work through it to come out the other side to achieve a healthy present and future.

In a world where social links are easier than never, individuals may still feel disconnected and alone. For adults, this loneliness may stem from lacking the answers to fundamental questions such as "why am I suffering?" or "what would it take to live a more significant life?" For children, this alienation may provoke suffering from a human experience too premature to comprehend. Psychoanalysis provides a unique space, where stigmatization and standardization is lifted to give a new meaning to what constitute a fulfilled existence.

I specialize in working with young adults, families, and schools to help those who are struggling to make sense of life’s demands. My clients range in age, but what they all have in common is the desire to find joy and purpose in their daily lives. I pride myself on helping clients acknowledge their personal obstacles, brainstorming alongside them ideas for solution-focused approaches, and keeping the focus on the unique journey we are each on in this lifetime. Some clients are seeking to just be heard, others wish to find new methods and strategies, and many are interested in a combination of these two session types.
