It can feel really isolating to struggle with depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, and/or addiction. As if those struggles aren't enough, it can be challenging to connect with people who understand that experience without judgement and can offer appropriate support. Sometimes we just need to talk through our experience to gain more insight. Or maybe we just need to learn some additional communication, boundary, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, coping and mindfulness tools in order to better manage what we’re struggling with.

My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic and together we will dive into the places that scare you and liberate you from self-limiting beliefs. I have a master’s degree in Community Counseling from Denver Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the State of Colorado. I have over 15 years of experience working with adults with drug and alcohol addiction, and co-occurring mental health disorders. Bruised Not Broken Therapy was born from the lack of Afrocentric-based psychotherapy that allowed people of color to embrace their life journey through the context of color. HIV, substance abuse, mental health, and the denial of the everyday experience of being a person of color continue to plague communities of color, as we still have yet to discuss these experiences.
