My passion for over 30 years has been to help people explore, identify and deal with problematic or out of control behaviors and the effects in their lives and in the lives of loved ones. I have always believed that these excessive behaviors have served as one way for people to regulate their moods, their neurochemistry, and to cope with anxiety and fears. In other words, to change the way they feel. I enjoy helping people learn to manage stress and anxiety in new ways. I also love helping people improve their relationship with themselves and others and to develop a deeper sense of meaning and purpose.

I specialize in working with individuals and couples from a holistic perspective, incorporating evidence-based modalities to support healing and growth. My practice is informed by the belief that healing occurs within the context of relationships. I approach therapy from a "person in the environment perspective". I help clients explore the dynamics within their families of origin and how these patterns continue to influence their current relationships and sense of self. We will also explore the importance of secure attachments in fostering emotional regulation and resilience.

I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, low self confidence and struggles in life transitions. For each client the expectations of therapy will differ; whether it' to gain insight, problem-solve or have a trusted listener. For many it can feel like there is no way through so many of these issues and big emotions, and it can feel daunting. My goal is to help guide you through those moments and begin to find a way through. Many problems might not have answers that come easily, and through identifying your strengths and values we can work to identify what isn't working, and what might.

As we continue through life we are constantly adapting to change. Whether you are a single adult, coupled, or a adolescent life events and growing pains are inevitable. When you find it difficult to manage and regulate your emotions or loved ones that do, this process of adaption can make finding peace, contentment and joy in life challenging. Sometimes with past trauma and/or current stressors and vulnerabilities, this adaption process can get stuck or go off-line.
