Through many years of working with clients and patients in both inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, I have learned that my passion is helping clients who are struggling to resolve problems that arise from unresolved family of origin issues and life transitions. I believe in a holistic approach to improve depressed mood, calm anxious thoughts, and learn coping skills. Grief work has been something that presents itself over and over and I enjoy helping clients move from the point where their loss feels overwhelming to a point where they can accept the loss and learn to enjoy life again.

I work with teenagers, adults, and couples. As a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist, my primary focus involves working with those that struggle with sex addiction, pornography, infidelity, and the resulting difficulties. I also work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions. My therapeutic approach involves understanding individuals as a part of the larger systems the exist within (marriage, family, work, etc.).

There are so many obstacles life can throw at you. It is exhausting, crippling, and overwhelming. It can leave you feeling like you are caught in a tidal wave and drowning. With over a decade experience with working in counseling, I have the skills needed to address concerns ranging from depression and anxiety, family concerns, weight loss with a focus on coping skills and addictive traits, to marital problems from connection to affair recovery. I am dedicated to working with clients to maximize change and increase overall life satisfaction using a short-term mindset. I believe that everyone has hurdles in life, but we all possess the potential for fulfillment and happiness. Through structured treatment planning with clients, I work on a direction that is both beneficial and mutually agreed upon.

Sometimes the small things make the biggest difference and the largest challenges are not so big in perspective. I believe that participating in counseling can provide that perspective and be a most remarkable and rewarding journey. The counseling process is not always easy and can be quite difficult. Realizing this, I always feel so honored when my clients are willing to include me on their journey. I enjoy working with families and children as they determine who they want to become and are willing to do whatever necessary to make it happen.

I am very collaborative in my approach and believe counseling works best when clients feel empowered in decision making and work in partnership with the therapist to discern the path they want to be on. I help clients understand all behavior makes sense in context.

My focus is helping clients connect the physical and emotional components of healing. I am trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction which is an evidence-based practice that teaches clients to cope with pain, anxiety, sleep, stress, addiction, and depression. I have worked with individuals and families for over 9 years and have seen the physical toll that emotions can take on a person’s life. My hope is to guide my patients back to a healthier lifestyle through a combination of approaches. I believe that every individual is unique and will design each treatment plan according to the client’s goals.
