ALL of us have experienced past traumatic events (to a greater or lesser degree) that may be impacting how we think, feel and act, today. I’ve learned from my clients and through my own personal experience that talk-therapy is just not enough! In obtaining the certifications needed, I’m confident I’m utilizing the most effective, progressive, therapeutic modalities to help clients, holistically, heal their brains, minds and bodies. By removing the roots of a client's anxiety/depression, I’ve seen tremendous breakthroughs with empowering clients to live the life they’ve always wanted; a life filled with happiness and peace.

For over twenty years, I've been practicing psychotherapy in both outpatient and inpatient settings. I began my career working with complex psychiatric cases. I have since evolved my practice to include a focus on wellness and prevention. I work with individuals, couples, and families, utilizing evidence-based treatment techniques that are tailored to each person's unique needs.

I own a dynamic group practice in Chattanooga called Ascend Coaching and Therapy. We work with clients in-person at our office in downtown Chattanooga, virtually via phone or video, and outside in the beautiful forests of TN via ecotherapy sessions. I offer Life Coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Integrative Psychotherapy to help you make and keep personal and professional changes, fulfill your potential, improve your health, and heal from the negative experiences and beliefs that hold you back.

Over the past 13 years, I have worked with a variety of challenges ages 5 to 75. With a double Masters degree in School Counseling and Mental Health, I have a unique training background. Skilled in relationship counseling that reaches family, school and personal issues, I would like the opportunity to talk with you more about how my training and experience can assist you or your family. When you can't look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark. Life is difficult. Sometimes we need the help of others who have walked through difficult things themselves and have walked this journey with others.

Over the past 15 years, I have loved working with every angle of the family. If you looked at my schedule on any given day, you'd probably see a few married couples, some exhausted and burnt-out parents, a college student, a 4th-12th grader, someone having an affair, someone who has been crushed by a loss or a person who is wrestling through their attraction to the same gender. I often find that a person's willingness to come in and simply talk about things creates at least 50% of the change they are looking for.

I am passionate about walking alongside individuals who feel beat down and weary from life’s burdens. Life is not easy, but having someone with an outside view can really help provide the clarity and insight we need. If you are hurting, struggling to stay hopeful, or having trouble finding direction, I would be honored to hear your story and walk with you towards hope and healing.

Counseling is an experience where you get to safely experiment by honestly examining areas of your life that cause a disturbance. Together we work through thoughts, challenging emotions, encouragement, resources, insights, goal planning, problem-solving, and relationships. I learn from those who paved the way before me, my experiences, my research colleagues, and most importantly - from my clients. We look at your story to understand.
