I am a Board Certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor that believes in science and faith. I believe that a person’s current thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviors are determined and/or prescribed by past Experiences/Events of trauma, joy and pain. Experiences are stored in memories from the time that we are able to receive information; and transform into automatic thoughts and behaviors as various situations/conditions occur. An individual’s perceptions and evaluations of experiences affect how they manage current episodes of stress, anger, adversity, relationship problems, grief, trauma, low self-esteem and problems in living.

I believe that the course of our lives can be changed by words of encouragement and support. Sometimes healing starts with a question! "How are you?" People ask this question often, but few truly want an answer. Listening and validating others' thoughts and feelings often lets them know that they have been heard and that they are not alone. What to expect from the therapeutic experience? I can help you identify beliefs, challenge inconsistencies, explore alternatives and be supportive.

Having worked in a plethora of fields and having experience in all clinical settings, I have come to realize that the issues where I have been able to be of most help and professionally have the most professional interest in are addiction, dual diagnosis, depression, mood disorder and individual and families coming to grips with severe and persistent mental illness. I opt not to make "all disorders" my specialization and know what my strengths and limitations are.

I am most passionate to help entire families impacted by addiction; addicts and "adult children" in recovery seeking to rebuild their lives; persons seeking help in codependent relationships; premarital and marital couples seeking to enrich or restore their marriages; and overall persons who feel "stuck" in life and need assistance finding direction, excitement, and purpose. I have worked in the secular environment for my entire career. However, I am able to provide a biblical perspective for clients who desire such an orientation.

My therapist encouraged me to become a therapist. I have my Master's Degree in Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy (a/k/a Marriage Couples and Family Counseling) from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida. Dr. Morgan Thomas, PsyD is a Pre-licensed Psychologist at Palm Beach Behavioral Health & Wellness. She conducts individual and family psychotherapy for primarily adolescents and adults. She also offers psychological assessments for teens and adults. Dr. Thomas practices an integrative model of therapy, where she combines psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems theories.
