My name is Dr. ShaRone David Kushnir. I am a dual licensed psychologist & mental health counselor, while also a certified professional life coach. I am a professional member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a forensic specialist qualified by the Department of Child & Family Services (DCF). My clinical background involves the evaluation & treatment of severe psychopathology including psychotic disorders such as Bipolar and Schizophrenia, personality disorders, addiction, trauma and PTSD.

It is my belief that everyone can and should benefit from therapy; whether suffering from severe mental illness or simply looking for a road map. Truly knowing oneself is an integral part of the lifelong journey toward self actualization. Unfortunately, stigma discourages many from taking advantage of our profession.

I am a mental health therapist licensed in Florida with over 10 years of experience working in social services, either in vocational rehab, case management or mental health therapy. I have worked with a variety of Clients reporting different concerns such as depression, anxiety, mood instability, parenting difficulties, but specializing in ADHD, autism and trauma. I hold a Masters in Counseling with Applied Behavior Analysis, as well as a Master's certificate in Play Therapy. I am currently working on a PhD in Developmental Psychology.

I have always used a more integrative approach in order to fit the needs of my clients. At times therapy can be difficult, and it’s my job to help make the experience of introspection, self-discovery, and healing feel as comfortable as possible. I enjoy spending time getting to know you and the important people or things in your life, how you experience joy, and how you manage your troubles. I take a non-judgmental, holistic view of a person to better understand how different aspects of life interact and may contribute to stress.

As human beings, we are hard-wired to be securely connected in relationship. We are happier and even live longer lives. At the same time, we are hard-wired to protect ourselves which can create a lot of conflict in relationship with others and with our authenticate self.

Life can be difficult. Managing the ups and downs of life can be especially stressful for those suffering from anxiety, depression, eating disorders and addiction. Putting down unhelpful habits can be hard. Even if you are in recovery, maintenance is not always easy. We often turn to things to make us feel better, not realizing the damage this does. Taking things one day at a time and choosing healthy coping mechanisms can be easier said than done. Sometimes extra support is needed to make the right choices.
