I work with clients who are athletes or other high achievers who are struggling with stress or balance in their lives. Many of my clients generally function well but need to work through a relationship issue, or want to learn to better manage anxiety. Many of my clients are also working through identity issues related to gender or sexuality, faith crisis work, motherhood, or being defined by their sports performance (i.e. Who am I besides someone who is really good at my sport?). An unhealthy emphasis on perfectionism when it comes to body image, performance, or religion is a common issue I help clients work through.

Take a deep breath, you're in the right place! Are you feeling unmotivated, lost, hopeless, or alone? Do you struggle with turning off your thoughts/worry? Have you been feeling misunderstood or invalidated by people you love? Maybe you just moved to a new city, started a new job, or ended a relationship. New experiences & rejection are scary! And feeling sad all the time sucks. It can make it challenging to build/maintain relationships, perform at work/school, as well as negatively impact mood, sleep, and eating habits. Wouldn't it be nice if you could learn to overcome these experiences & feelings and start smiling for real again?

Therapy is often a misunderstood concept, with many people perceiving it as a one-sided conversation where the therapist simply listens and provides occasional feedback. However, therapy is much more than that. I'm all about meaningful interaction and connecting as human beings. My main objective is to help you achieve your desired outcomes, while making the therapeutic journey as enjoyable and enlightening as possible. Therapy doesn't have to be a painful experience. My goal as a therapist is to create a collaborative and supportive environment where my clients feel motivated and inspired to make positive changes in their lives.

Hello, I'm Coralie Morin, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a passion for making a positive impact. My journey began at the University of Central Florida, where I earned my bachelor's degree in psychology. Following that, I pursued my master's in clinical social work at Florida Atlantic University. I have worked in the middle school setting for over 3 years as an individual therapist. I enjoy working with this population and strive to provide my clients with what I needed at that age: Support without judgment.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
