As a young girl, I wanted to be a teacher. I got my teaching certificate and then a degree in counseling and guidance. Increasingly, the field of psychology captured my attention. My training focused on children and families which led to working with couples. In my work with children, I developed expertise in the areas of trauma and pediatric illnesses and led to trauma with adults and to work in end-of-life issues. The field of psychology has changed so much! 40 years ago people attended therapy for years. Now people can utilize the tools and strategies the therapy can provide in fewer than five sessions.

Welcome! My name is Alicia Orman, I am a warm and compassionate therapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents and adults. I strive to help clients define and understand their obstacles, set reasonable goals and empower them to make improvements in their lives. My first objective of treatment is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can talk comfortably and share about their unique experiences at a pace that is suitable for them.

If your teenager is in turmoil and you don't know what to do I can provide them with a safe place to take a deep breath and unload their problems. Being a teenager is hard enough and the ever-increasing demands and pressures from school and society can take their toll. Along with adolescents and their families, my other area of specialty is help and healing for women who are having emotional difficulties after having an abortion. For some women, this experience can cause severe anxiety, guilt, anger and bitterness. I am trained to help you through this, grieve the loss and move forward in a completely non-judgmental setting.
