I have a variety of tools in my therapeutic "tool box" and strive to use the tools/techniques that resonate most for each individual. For some it may be a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach or Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), others Mindfulness, and still others spirituality, somatic work, imagery, or art process may resonate... usually it is a combination of several.

I retired from Pilgrim Psychiatric Center in 2013. Over the past 35 years I have worked in various setting such as inpatient psychiatric hospitals, outpatient programs, detox, substance rehab and private practice. I have worked with these clients in a private practice setting and in an addictions treatment center setting. I have accomplished Masters Degrees in both Counseling and Clinical Psychology. I studied both disciplines to equip myself for assessment as well as treatment . I became a counselor to help teens navigate their way into adulthood. I quickly found that the family is where it all starts. Therefore, I focused on family/marriage counseling. From there I branched into addiction counseling.
