You may be carrying the weight of anxiety, old wounds, family patterns, or the pressure to hold everything together. You may be navigating a life transition, feeling disconnected from yourself, or realizing you’ve been living in survival mode for far too long. You might even be wondering why you feel so much and why certain relationships drain you, why peace feels unfamiliar, or why clarity seems just out of reach. If any of this resonates, you’re in the right place. My work is rooted in authenticity, emotional safety, and the belief that healing is both possible and transformative.

Life can feel heavy when old wounds resurface, relationships feel unstable, or the past keeps showing up in the present. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, safe, and supported as you explore what’s beneath the surface. Healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself. It’s about reconnecting with who you truly are.

Trauma is, unfortunately, a very prevalent issue in our world. It can impact our sense of safety, ability to connect with others in a healthy manner and self esteem. Learning the natural responses to trauma as well as our triggers, cues and strategies to regulate helps to increase our ability to gain control over symptoms and respond to current life experiences instead of reacting. Survivors can incorporate their experience as a piece of their life story as opposed to feeling as if they are defined by their trauma.

I approach my work as both a counselor and a guide—someone who walks alongside you as you explore the deeper layers of who you are. I believe we are far more than just what we present to the world; we're shaped by experiences, culture, family, and the patterns we repeat—sometimes without even realizing it. Often, we find ourselves stuck in cycles that feel familiar but keep us from growing. The idea of stepping outside those cycles can feel uncertain or even uncomfortable. But with the right support, knowledge, and tools, it’s absolutely possible to shift direction—and thrive.

Relationships are hard, but they're also so important. Maybe you've been up all night wondering if your relationship is worth saving. Maybe you're going through the motions with your spouse or partner and wondering why you feel isolated. Maybe you're enjoying your kids but wondering why you feel so alone once they're asleep and it's just you and your spouse together. That deep sense of isolation makes you wonder if you're the problem.

Prior to becoming a licensed professional counselor I worked in a number of related counseling areas. Our histories create in us the skills to manage or mismanage; to be brave or be fearful; to trust and mistrust and to know when to love or love till it hurts. Do you often find that as you make your way through life you encounter self doubt, frightening levels of hopelessness and fear? As you struggle with these questions, issues and feeling, your struggle may be weighed down by a sense of fear as to who to trust and how to love.

I try to be a down to earth counselor, meaning I have no expectations of anyone person other than they just be themselves. It is my passion to walk along side you if you are hurting and seeking healing and a new path in life. My desire is to help you work through past, present, or potential future issues. It is my pleasure to be there to help you lean into your fears and seek the truth in every situation, and helping you to see the choices that are available to us.

C.S. Lewis said, “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” There comes a time in every life when the load you’ve been carrying gets too heavy. Sometimes, people try to muscle through their pain; some pretend it does not exist, and some wave the white flag of surrender. However, you have the power of choice. Your pain is not in the driver’s seat - you have had the power all along. Whether you're feeling stressed, anxious, or stuck, I'm here to help. As a therapist, I create a welcoming and judgment-free space to talk through whatever’s on your mind.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
