Dr. Scardino is board certified in General Psychiatry. He has 39 years of experience treating the full spectrum of psychiatric disorders, using a comprehensive biopsychosocial approach to expedite patients’ recovery. He has received multiple awards and recognitions in Harris County for his service excellence. Dr. Scardino began practicing psychiatric medicine in 1986, and has been chosen as the head of interdisciplinary treatment teams numerous times. He has served as a medical director at the MHMRA and Mid City Community Service Center.

Gerald Okafor is a Board-Certified Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). He has a great ability to foster good rapport with patients. I have been Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for the past 25 years. I am a graduate of San Jacinto College, The University of Texas at Austin, The University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, and Texas Tech Medical School Residency program in Neuropsychiatry. I diagnose and treat adults, adolescents, and children for most psychiatric disorders especially major depressive disorder and attention deficit disorder (ADHD).

I focus my practice on helping professionals in personal or professional crises - people who suffer in context of relationship issues, life transitions, work struggles, mood disorders and/or ineffective coping strategies. Most of my patients carry diagnoses of adjustment, mood and anxiety disorders. I use both psychopharmacology and psychotherapy, as clinically indicated.

I am a psychiatrist who specializes in treating patients who are struggling with mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder as well as anxiety. I am especially interested in treatment resistant disorders. I also utilize genetic testing when appropriate to personalize treatment based on an individual's unique ability to process medication. This can improve a patient's response to medications and minimize side effects. Each patient receives a highly individualized treatment plan, and I ensure that contributing factors are addressed in order to position patients to achieve the highest level of success.

Our society has been historically more sensitive to physical impairments than emotional ones. If others cannot see your struggle, it doesn't mean that these symptoms don't exist. Dr. Seth Thompson is a board-certified psychiatrist with an expertise in Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, PTSD, ADHD, and Addictive Medicine. He completed his medical residency training at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine where he had the opportunity to train with a diverse population of both providers and patients. He continues to reside in the eastern portion of Tennessee providing care for patients from a large swath and catchment area of southwest Virginia, southeast Kentucky, West Virginia, eastern and middle Tennessee, and northwest North Carolina.

Dr. Yahya Saeed is a long time Houstonian, having graduated from Stratford High School and from the University of Houston. He has also been a general psychiatry resident at the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, and then completed his addiction psychiatry fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut. He is trilingual in English, Spanish, and Urdu/Hindi, and accepts patients who speak these languages. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Houston College of Medicine.

Dr. Seeta Patel is a Harvard-trained, board-certified adult psychiatrist. She provides evidence-based medication management for adults (18 years and older). She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma related concerns. She works with clients from a variety of cultural backgrounds and have seen how trauma can cause lifelong suffering. We often do not reach out until aspects of our life have already been affected in a negative way - for instance, when relationships have fallen apart, or when we have lost a job. Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness, but rather it is a sign of strength.

Yet, mental illness has unnecessarily been a taboo, which is particularly unfortunate because this only makes it more likely that people will suffer in silence. It is an ordinary illness with its own kind of treatment approaches. Life is full of overwhelming challenges that may affect mental balance. Also, mental illness is often not situational and is prominent among members of certain families. With all this, it is no surprise that mental illness is rampant and should be taken seriously and treated, rather than hiding in shame.

Hi! My name is Camille, a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in Texas. I received my Master's from Walden University, and have over 10 years of patient care/ hospital experience, and have been practicing in the mental health field for 3 out of those 10 years. I help and serve a diverse group of clients ranging from young adults to older/geriatric patients to get on the right track towards bettering their mental wellness.
