I have over 11 years of experience in mental health treatment and medication management. I work with young to older adults who have experienced depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, sleep disorders, ADHD, OCD and PTSD.

I prescribe psychiatric medication for adults and children, taking the time to listen and understand you or your child to make the best possible medication choices. My expertise in prescribing will help your efforts to improve your mental health and get you back on track. I also provide therapy as part of treatment, and believe in fixing the root of the issues.

I am a licensed psychiatrist, with over 20 years' experience helping people succeed in living healthy and full lives. I received my medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School, and completed residencies in General Psychiatry and in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at St. Vincent's Medical Center, New York City. Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, I maintain private practices in New York City and Providence, RI. I've trained and supervised clinicians and residents of Brown University Medical School. Dr Rengifo is a Harvard trained board-certified psychiatrist who has expertise in medical education and diagnosing & treatment of various psychiatric conditions in adults. He completed his education at Cornell University and Rush Medical College as well as completing a psychiatry residency at Cambridge Health Alliance/Harvard Medical School. Most recently, he has an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry through Brown Medical School in Providence, RI with several teaching awards. Dr Rengifo brings a passion for teaching and excellent beside manner to all his patients.

I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who specializes in treating patients with mood disorders, including depression and anxiety. I work with psychotropic medication for symptom management, but I encourage my patients to engage in psychotherapy, nutrition awareness, exercise, sleep hygiene and relaxation activities. I offer and have implemented GENETIC TESTING as part of my treatment regimen as well as assisting with cannabis card retrieval.

I am Board Certified by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in Psychiatry and Mental Health. I am bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English. I believe that each person has a unique problem and treatment is tailored specifically to their mental health concerns. I aim to provide patients compassionate and judgment-free care using advanced technology (telehealth) to help enhance their quality of life for those that are affected with a mental health disorder. At times patients or families may not be able to fully discuss issues - that is okay. Dr. Freeman will meet you where you are at in this journey, temporarily lead you, and teach you to lead yourself. Children/Adolescents often benefit in using play to establish trust. Often more can be learned from a child playing a game together vs interviewing them. Dr. Freeman is experienced at listening to all ages and helping them discuss difficult issues.
