Greetings, future client, My name is Matthew Clemons. I am a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who cares with compassion for individuals throughout their lifespan (children and adults). My goal is to provide holistic, collaborative, and client-centered care with the most up-to-date, evidence-based practice in behavioral healthcare. My treatment approaches include medication management, mental health education, solution-focused therapy, and supportive psychotherapy.

Mental illness or a psychiatric diagnosis can often feel disparaging, stigmatized, or outdated-this language and terminology often strays people away from seeking the help they need. Mental health, on the other hand, encompasses mind, body, spirit, and brain health. My role in your care can be to prescribe medications, tailor your current medication regimen, or help you find alternatives to pharmaceuticals. I can help make recommendations regarding lifestyle, sleep-hygiene, nutrition, supplements, or daily movement to promote a healthy mind.

I am an experienced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with the privilege of practicing for a decade in Vermont. I relocated to Western North Carolina in 2019. I have devoted myself to outpatient psychiatric and neurological practice specializing in treating adults with mood and anxiety disorders in a cognitive behavioral therapy setting as well as dementia care for patients and their families. My role is primarily medication management. Also, I am a veteran Army officer who has experience providing psychiatric care to active duty serice members. My practice is 100% telehealth.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist specializing in brain health conditions and symptoms, like depression, anxiety, or other changes in mood, behavior, or personality. Through Isaac Health, I primarily provide evaluation and management of age-related behavioral/mental health issues, especially if likely due to Alzheimer's disease or other neurodegenerative disease related to dementia. Treatment may include psychopharmacology (medication management), specialized talk therapy (like cognitive behavioral therapy, CBT), personalized counseling, and other psychosocial support as needed.

I am a general psychiatrist serving adults of all ages. My job is to help you recover and thrive. I use a gentle, supportive style informed by the latest scientific evidence to guide you toward health. In my medical training, I was taught the art of whole person care. I learned that a patient's needs often go beyond the healing of the body. I am a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with 8+ years of nursing experience in the psychiatric field ranging from child and adult inpatient care to community mental health crisis stabilization and substance abuse treatment. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of North Carolina and Master's Degree at Walden University. My focus is on the treatment of mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance abuse through assessments and medication management.
